Mr. Schmidt also served as General Counsel for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture, as a trial attorney for the Jefferson Parish Louisiana Indigent Defenders Office and as a Cooperating attorney for the ACLU in Louisiana. He is a 1998 graduate of the prestigious Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College. He also served as a Better Business Bureau Senior Arbitrator from 1986-2001. Mr. Schmidt has obtained significant verdicts and/or judgments on behalf of plaintiffs in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, professional negligence, civil rights, unfair trade practices, RICO, and wrongful death.
