Mission Statement
"To maintain a small caseload with a commitment to vigorous prosecution of well-researched cases. Lawsuits should improve society and achieve justice. With these goals in mind, we seek cases and clients where the issues are important to public policy and involve substantial injuries or constitutional questions. The firm receives referrals from attorneys throughout the country for cases in the Southeast and is nationally recognized as a leading firm in personal injury, products liability, wrongful death, civil rights and medical malpractice litigation. We welcome co-counsel relationships for important cases."
To succeed in litigation there is no substitute for superior preparation, legal research and writing.
The firm prides itself in legal work product that is second to none. Every court paper, every motion, every oral argument and trial in any court should be the best work that an attorney can produce. Achieving this standard means devoting many hours to legal research and preparartion often before a case is even filed.
Our firm was the first to file electronic companion briefs on CD-ROM in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Tennessee. David Randolph Smith gave a seminar presentation to the Tennessee Trial Lawyers at the 2005 Annual Convention on Electronic Briefs and E-Filing.
